My Style

As a Journalist, I have a more documentary and story-telling approach to my photography style. I have a candid and free-spirit idea to child photography. Many will refer to my sessions as a fun play date with time to explore, instead of a formal photo session. I enjoy capturing the special moments between families, which are most likely the expressions that you see in one another every day. I believe there is no such thing as the perfect picture-just a perfect moment. I search for these genuine moments! I invite you sit back, relax, have a cup of coffee and enjoy browsing through my galleries to get a feel for how I see children through my eyes and interpret them through my lens. I look for moments with laughter, thought, emotion. I invite kids to be kids, wear tutus over jeans, laugh with their brother and kiss their mommy's nose. This is childhood and that is what I see…no forced grins and stiff poses will be documented; instead I look for genuine childhood expressions. No "cheesy" grins or baby botox looks here;-)

Clothing Suggestions

Clothing choices are just as important for family sessions, as any other. My idea of an artistic child or family portrait is not of everyone matching and wearing khaki and white. Remember, "thinking outside the studio"…thinking outside the box… I highly suggest clothing for each family member that has the same tone, not necessarily color. I invite you to re-browse my website and check out certain clothing on kids and parents for ideas. Think of it as looking at a catalog and remember what image stood out and spoke to you. This is the image and style you want to remember! An information packet will be sent with more detailed suggestions on clothing choices.

After the Session

Session usually take 45min-1hr. A password will be given to you to view your session proofs. A password protected online photo gallery is available on my website for your viewing convenience. Online photo proofs can be viewed in the comfort of your own home, making it easy to share with family and friends. The online gallery will be available for 5 days. Orders are expected to be placed at this time. You are welcomed to call and ask questions and suggestions at anytime. You are encouraged to talk your order through with me, so that I can guide you through any creative suggestions, sizes and art products you wish to explore. Samples of albums, art books, cards and other art products are available for viewing.
